Australian Physiotherapy Council Accreditation Standards Review - Consumer Representative
About
The Australian Physiotherapy Council (APC), on behalf of the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (PhysioBA), is undertaking a review of the standards used to accredit entry level education programs. As part of this project, the APC is also developing new standards against which post-graduate programs of study teaching qualified physiotherapists medicine prescribing can be accredited. At the completion of this project, the revised set of entry level accreditation standards and new postgraduate prescribing standards will be presented to the PhysioBA for approval and implementation in Australia.
The purpose of the project is to develop accreditation standards that ensure the physiotherapy profession continues to meet the needs of the community. The role of the consumer representatives is to review the background information, stakeholder feedback and supporting evidence to ensure the proposed standards represent the needs and concerns of consumers around enhancing the accessibility, safety and effectiveness of physiotherapy in Australia.
The opportunity and your role
The APC is seeking two consumers who have experience in utilising the services of physiotherapists (either as patients or caregivers) as well as consumers who can provide insight into the patient experience and the needs of the community for physiotherapy in Australia. An interest in accreditation, healthcare quality and/or health education would be a benefit but is not required.
The Australian Physiotherapy Council Accreditation Standards Review will meet six times between 28 October 2024 and 31 July 2025. The consumer will be remunerated $92.80/hour or $464/day (based on a five-hour day) for meetings and documentation review.
If you have any queries regarding the opportunity, contact Accreditation@physiocouncil.com.au.
Expressions of interest close Monday 21 October 2024.
