Australia has a world-class health system, but there are gaps.

With the Federal election looming, what are the top healthcare priorities the next Government needs to address?

Three of Australia’s leading health advocates will discuss how health inequity is leaving many behind, including First Nations people, rural and remote populations, many elderly and young people.

How do we fix a sometimes fragmented health system that results in people with chronic and complex conditions struggling to receive lifesaving healthcare?

What shifts do we need to make to fully unlock the potential that digital health offers 21st century care?

What steps are needed to place people and their needs at the centre of health care?

Our experts will outline their top three priorities for change, and answer questions at this National Press Club event co-hosted by the Consumers Health Forum and The George Institute for Global Health.

Our expert panel:

Karen Carey, former Chair of the Consumers Health Forum

Dr Sandro Demaio from ABC’s Ask the Doctor and CEO of EAT

Professor Stephen Duckett, Head of the Health Program at the Grattan Institute
