Ainslie Cahill AM recognised for her health consumer advocacy
The Consumers Health Forum congratulates Ainslie Cahill on being made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her great work in promoting the interests of health consumers.
“Ainslie has been a tremendous advocate in many spheres of consumer health and the AM is the latest recognition of her work,” the CEO of Consumers Health Forum, Leanne Wells, said.
“Ainslie was for many years a director of our board and received Honorary Life Membership of the Consumers Health Forum in 2011.
“She was CEO of Arthritis Australia and her AM citation refers to her significant services to people living with arthritis and to community health groups.
“Ainslie currently leads consumer and community involvement for Maridulu Budyari Gumal/SPHERE, a partnership of universities, hospitals and research institutions across the Sydney Basin.
“She is also a member of the NHMRC’s Australian Health Ethics Committee, its Community and Consumer Advisory Group, and the Community Observers Working Committee.
“Her Order of Australia is a worthy recognition of the value that advocates such as her bring in improving health care,” Ms Wells said.
