Medical costs – what have you paid out of your own pocket?

Out of pocket medical costs are hurting a rising number of Australians.

The Federal Government has recognised the community's concern about this issue and has set up a committee to look into it.

The Consumers Health Forum is the only representative of consumers on the committee. To strengthen the voice of consumers by presenting their experience with out of pocket costs, we invite you to share your experiences by responding to the questions on this form. You can share your experience with us anonymously if you wish.

By out of pocket costs we mean those additional costs for treatment inside or outside of hospital which were not covered by health insurance or Medicare and which you had to fully pay yourself, or where you paid a gap for services attracting a Medicare and/or health insurance rebate.

We will use this information to inform our advocacy and to share it more widely on our website and social media, uses you can decline in the 'Consent' section of the form.  If you would prefer not to enter your information on this form but would like to share your experience, you can call us on 02 6273 5444 to speak to someone.
