Research and Policy Officer

The Consumers Health Forum of Australia (CHF) is the national peak body representing the interests of Australian healthcare consumers. CHF works to achieve safe, quality, timely healthcare for all Australians, supported by accessible health information and systems.

CHF members and wider networks reach thousands of Australian health consumers across a wide range of health interests and health system experiences. The Secretariat is responsible for developing CHF policy through consultation with members and stakeholders, ensuring that CHF maintains a broad, representative, health consumer perspective.

The policy team is headed up by the Policy Director with four policy and research officers working across the full range of health issues with the priorities for that work driven by the membership. We are looking for a Research and Policy Officer to join our team.

As well as participating in the policy work of the team the Research and Policy officer will take the lead on undertaking both qualitative and quantitative research in support of that policy agenda. This will include surveys on various policy issues which include helping to develop our  Australia's Health Panel as a robust online community. The Research and Policy Officer will also help with the redevelopment of the Real People Real Data toolkit and promote its use as well as using it for CHF's own qualitative analysis.

The Research and Policy Officer will also be required to help design and run focus groups and workshops which may involve some interstate travel.

We are a busy team, juggling competing demands and working to tight deadlines. If you like a challenge and have the requisite skills and want to play a part influencing and shaping health policy at a national level, we’d like to hear from you.
